The town of Outlook was incorporated in 1913 with Mr. Art Rueber as the first mayor. Since 1913 we have gone from a street full of businesses to just few. The first official post office in 1910 at the old town site with Bernard Dalhvang as the first Postmaster.

The girls and boys basketball teams have always been very successful. Over the years they have won several championships on the district, divisional, and state levels. The Little League team was started in the 1950s, and through the years have also won many tournaments and trophies.

A brutal fire ravaged the town on Halloween night in 1999, destroying numerous buildings and landmarks. Miraculously, the school was spared. The fire was ignited by a passing freight train and was fed by parched grass and winds of 45 to 80 mph. 18,000 acres burned with over $4 million in damages. True to the spirit of Northeastern Montanans, the people of Outlook continue to rebuild and rejuvenate.
